CATEGORY: Taxation
COURSE ID: W697T, VERSION 1.00
(48)
  Webinar
2 CPE Credits
Level: Overview
This webinar will explore the special federal tax law provisions, including anticipated measures including recent legislation, that help taxpayers and businesses recover financially from the impact of a disaster, especially when the federal government declares their location to be a major disaster area. Relief may include the postponement of certain tax-filing and tax-payment deadlines for taxpayers who reside or have a business in the disaster area, qualified disaster relief payments, deductible casualty losses, and more. The discussion will also include approaches for reconstructing taxpayer records, and tips on creating or maintaining an emergency preparedness plan. Note that this webinar is intended to address the special federal tax provisions available to taxpayers who experienced a natural disaster (e.g., hurricane, wildfire) and is not intended to address the specific tax relief provided due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
