Uniform Guidance Implementation
Chris Pembrook discusses the history of grants management, and how inefficiencies in grants management lend themselves to a new system in the Uniform Guidance. He will explain COFAR's role in the administering, monitoring, and reporting of grants, as well as the mission of the organization. Chris examines the structure and organization of the Uniform Guidance, and how the information was streamlined from eight different Circulars down to one document. He also looks at how the Uniform Guidance seeks to guard against waste, fraud, and abuse, while reducing the administrative burden, and the risk approach that balances these two objectives.
Upon successful completion of Uniform Guidance Implementation, the user should be able to:
recognize who COFAR is and what the group seeks to accomplish,
identify how the Uniform Guidance streamlined the guidance on grants management into one document, and where the different types of pre and post award information resides, and
recognize what the term equitable distribution means.
