TCJA and Increased Standard Deduction and Changes to Credits and Deductions New
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act made substantial changes to the Tax Code, particularly for individuals. Substantial changes were made to deductions and credits available to individuals, including the standard deduction, medical expense, mortgage interest, state and local taxes, charitable deductions, moving expenses, 2% itemized deductions, as well as personal casualty losses, child and nondependent credits.
