This course presents an explanation of a data breach as well as the potential financial cost of a data breach to an organization. Risk mitigation management controls that help prevent a security and/or privacy breach are outlined as well as federal and state regulatory requirements an organization must follow if there is a breach. In addition, this course presents the various types of cyber security insurance policies and how to analyze the high costs and negative publicity a company could incur when evaluating cyber security insurance policies. Further, this course discusses how cyber security insurance carrier assesses a company. There is a discussion on how much cyber security policies can cost and how to determine what is not included or covered in a policy. This course is most beneficial to professionals new to data breaches who may be at the staff or entry level in organization but also for a seasoned professional with limited exposure to cybersecurity.
