In today's environment, CPA firms must acquire and maintain a level of technology to sustain a competitive advantage in the marketplace and retain the role of business advisor with clients. Computers, networks, and the internet are, more often than not, integral in businesses of all types and sizes, and clients expect CPAs, as business advisors, to be sophisticated in the use of technology. Therefore, technology is extremely important for firms. Technology is also important to firms due to the increasing number of applications and tools required today that continue to make technology a major component of the firm's capital and operating budget. This basic level course is most beneficial to professionals new to firm technology who may be at the staff or entry level in organization but also for a seasoned professional with limited exposure to this topic.
