This course provides instruction on a selection of basic grammar and punctuation rules for the professional. The value of proper written communication should not be under estimated. Navigating workplace e-mail, memos and marketing may seem basic, but errors occur everyday giving the impression that the business entity or individual professional is sloppy or uneducated. The advantages of using good grammar, proofreading, and utilizing published and proven style guides and online resources can add value to products, impress customers, improve negotiations with vendors, and increase the potential for professional advancement and success. This course provides a general review of professional grammar and punctuation from a broad perspective. This course is appropriate for the professional at any organizational level.
Upon successful completion of this course, the user should be able to:
recognize why using good grammar is important and the advantages that using good grammar will provide, and
identify the correct use of commonly misused homophones, terms, and types of punctuation and fix sentences for other grammar errors.
