This course presents and explains the various types of entities available for conducting business, including LLCs and LLPs. It explains how these entities are created and operate. It further explains the entities' and owners' potential legal liabilities. Tax reporting requirements at the entity and owner levels for the different entities is also explained. This basic level course is most beneficial to professionals new to types of entities and who may be at the staff or entry level in an organization but also for a seasoned professional with limited exposure to this topic. This course has been updated for the relevant provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Upon successful completion of this course, the user should be able to:
understand the various types of entities available to use to conduct a business, and
