Cyber Risk and the Internal Auditor
This course is an introduction to cyber risk and the tools and techniques for auditing cyber risk management. You will explore the basic elements and building blocks of a cyber risk audit program and the various frameworks supporting cyber risk governance. Ultimately, the goal of this course is to provide audit professionals with the necessary guidance to lead or take part in an organization's defense against malicious acts and minimize the potential impact of cyber attacks.
Upon successful completion of this course, the user should be able to:
define cyber risk and identify the potential impact facing organizations today;
define cyber risk assessment and distinguish between internal and external threats;
recognize the Three Lines of Defense Model, including its associated roles and responsibilities;
recognize the various cyber standards and frameworks, including the role of each in managing cyber risk; and
recognize the internal audit plan and the various tools and techniques for evaluating cyber risk management.
