This interactive self-study course discusses the pre-engagement activities and audit planning that is necessary to perform an audit of an employee benefit plan. Lesson 1 covers engagement acceptance and continuance and establishing the terms of the engagement. Lesson 2 discusses audit planning, understanding the plan and its environment, and understanding internal control. Lesson 3 concludes the course with a discussion of audit planning decisions and judgments, the use of a specialist, timing and coordination, audit sampling, the organization and structure of detailed audit plans and workpapers, and initial engagements.
