The COSO framework consists of five components of internal control. The final component of that cube is monitoring. Monitoring provides the key input to determining whether financial statement assertions are valid and is pivotal in minimizing the impact of control weaknesses through early detection of problems and implementation of improvements in controls. This course is most beneficial to those with basic accounting experience.
