AP Worst Practices, Better Options and IC Issues, Internal
This course is designed to make the reader aware of some of the more common worst practices in accounts payable and issues with internal control. The course will not only explain why these practices have made the "worst" list but will also give options for better practices for organizations. In addition, the course is will give an in-depth look at where, when, and why internal controls in the area of accounts payable often go awry.
Upon successful completion of AP Worst Practices, Better Options and IC Issues, Internal, the user should be able to:
recognize a best practice accounts payable policy for any organization,
recognize effective policies for eliminating duplicate payments,
identify and eliminate weak control practices that do not curtail duplicate payments,
recognize strong master vendor file practices,
identify a policy that will enable the organization to conform with IRS reporting guidelines, and
recognize the required information needed for complying with various regulatory issues regarding accounts payable.
