Performing Effective and Efficient Single Audits

In this full-day webinar you will learn the audit requirements of the single audit based on 2 CFR Part 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards which includes a summary of 2020 revisions. You will learn the key responsibilities of the auditor including how to determine major programs.  This webinar includes the overall performance of the entire single audit. Special attention is given to common single audit deficiencies, tips and best practices, efficient and effective methods to test internal controls over compliance and compliance requirements (including sampling techniques), development of meaningful audit findings and the current compliance supplement and addendum.

  • Review of fundamental requirements for single audits
  • Understanding the auditee and auditor responsibilities in preparing a complete and accurate schedule of expenditures of federal awards 
  • Performing a risk-based approach to determine major programs
  • Designing effective and efficient methods to test internal controls and test compliance requirements that could have a direct and material effect on a major program
  • Understanding sampling in a single audit environment
  • Effectively identifying, developing and reporting audit findings to comply with the requirements of 2 CFR Part 200
  • Recognizing best practices to improve common single audit deficiencies and best practices to improve single audit efficiency will be discussed throughout the session
  • Understanding an overview of the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) from the perspective of auditee and Federal awarding agency
  • Recognizing the content of the current compliance supplement and addendum
