Sharon R. Cohen
Sharon R. Cohen is an attorney and a Principal in the Knowledge Resource Center of Conduent Human Resource Services, where she monitors and reports on welfare benefit plan developments for consultants and clients. She serves on the ECFC Technical Advisory Group and previously worked in the IRS Chief Counsel’s office responsible for cafeteria plan issues. Sharon received her law degree from George Washington University Law School in 1990. She is a contributing author of EBIA’s Cafeteria Plans manual.

Jody L. Dietel
Jody L. Dietel is the Chief Compliance Officer for WageWorks, Inc. and Vice-Chair of the Employers Council of Flexible Compensation (ECFC). She serves on the Board of the HSA Council of the American Bankers Association and the Special Interest Group for IIAS Standards (SIGIS), which streamlines standards for the use of health care electronic payment systems in accordance with federal standards. Jody holds a B.A. in psychology from Bethel University in Minnesota, and is an Advanced Certified Flexible Compensation Instructor (ACFCI) and COBRA administration specialist (CAS) through ECFC’s Flexible Compensation Institute.

Aline G. Haffner
Aline G. Haffner is an attorney and Senior Consultant, EBIA Learning, at Thomson Reuters/Tax & Accounting. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters/Tax & Accounting, Ali practiced law for 15 years in the employee benefits field, in private practice with a leading Connecticut law firm and as in-house employee benefits counsel to a Fortune 50, multinational corporation. She received her law degree in 1995 from Cornell Law School, where she was an Articles Editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. Ali is a former editor and contributing author of EBIA’s Self-Insured Health Plans and HIPAA Portability, Privacy & Security manuals.

Andrew Ky Haynes
Andrew Ky Haynes is an attorney and a Shareholder and Director of Haynes Benefits PC in Kansas City, Missouri. He practices primarily in the area of employee benefits, representing private and governmental plans, tax-exempt organizations and service providers. He has served as Chairman of the Missouri Bar Employee Benefits Committee and the Missouri Department of Insurance Liaison Committee. Andy received his law degree from Emory University School of Law in 1982, where he was Research Editor of the Emory Law Journal. He is a contributing author of EBIA’s HIPAA Portability, Privacy & Security and Group Health Plans: Federal Mandates manuals.

John R. Hickman is an attorney and a Partner in the Employee Benefits Practice Group with Alston & Bird in Atlanta and is head of its Health Benefits Group. He is a member of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel, is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (Woodward/White 2011), and serves as chair of the ECFC Technical Advisory Group. John received his law degree from Emory University School of Law in 1989. He is a contributing author of EBIA’s Cafeteria Plans, Consumer-Driven Health Care, and Health Care Reform manuals, and a contributor to EBIA’s HIPAA Portability, Privacy & Security manual.

Darcy L. Hitesman
Darcy L. Hitesman is an attorney and a Principal Shareholder and Director of Hitesman & Wold P.A. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a frequent speaker to legal and non-legal audiences regarding welfare benefit plan issues. Darcy received her J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School cum laude in 1987 and graduated summa cum laude from Coe College in Iowa in 1984. She is a contributing author of EBIA’s ERISA Compliance manual, and a contributor to EBIA’s Group Health Plans: Federal Mandates and EBIA’s Self-Insured Health Plans manuals.

Jason P. Lacey is an attorney and a Partner with Foulston Siefkin LLP in Wichita, Kansas. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Employee Benefits Law and is member of the American Bar Association Joint Committee on Employee Benefits. Jason received his law degree from the University of Kansas in 2000 and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University in 2001. He is a contributing author of EBIA’s Self-Insured Health Plans and Health Care Reform manuals and EBIA’s Form 1094/1095 Workbook for Employers and Advisors.

Gita K. Sharma is an attorney and an EBIA Senior Editor at Thomson Reuters. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, she practiced law for 15 years in the employee benefits field in the New York/New Jersey area. She also teaches as an adjunct professor at the Rutgers Business School. Gita received her J.D. degree from Albany Law School of Union University and her LL.M. from New York University School of Law. Christy A. Tinnes is a Principal with the Groom Law Group in Washington, D.C. She is involved in all aspects of health and welfare plans, including ERISA, HIPAA portability, HIPAA privacy, COBRA, and Medicare. Christy received her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1998, where she wrote for the South Carolina Law Review. She is a contributing author of EBIA’s Health Care Reform for Employers and Advisors manual.

Christine A. Williams is an attorney and Senior Counsel at Perkins Coie LLP in Los Angeles. She was formerly Director of Seminars at EBIA and was the Editor and a Contributing Author of EBIA’s HIPAA Portability, Privacy & Security manual. Chris has practiced exclusively in the employee benefits area since 1987 as both counselor and litigator and has represented single employer, multiemployer, and multiple employer plans. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law and was awarded the Order of the Coif. Chris is a contributor to EBIA’s HIPAA Portability, Privacy & Security manual.
